Community Partnerships, Donations Provide Winter Clothes for MMSD Students
This week, student services staff from MMSD schools had the opportunity to pick out an assortment of brand new cozy winter clothing for their students, including coats, snow pants, long sleeve shirts, pants and hats donated by Lands' End.
As temperatures drop, and Madison receives its first fall of snow of the season, warm clothing becomes a rising necessity for students to get to and from school, play outside at recess and stay healthy and safe.
"This is such a big need, because not all students have access to these items," Community Schools Manager Sarita Foster said. "Having a group of partners work together to get this work done is important for all of our students."
School social workers, family liaisons and more school staff double checked their lists as they packed their cars full of winter gear.
Thank you, Madison Public Schools Foundation, Lands End, EZ Office Products and all the volunteers for supporting our students and helping us foster a sense of belonging and care in our community.
