The District is seeing progress in its special education work, particularly in increasing inclusion of students with Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) into general education classrooms.
For almost 30 years, Shabazz High School students have worked with kindergarteners to create custom, handcrafted children’s books, growing connections and a love of reading.

These outstanding young people were celebrated for their positive impacts on peers, enthusiasm for learning, and dedication to helping others.

MMSD is collaborating with SSM Health, Public Health Madison Dane County, GHC-SCW and UW Health to host a vaccine clinic on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025.
The Celebration of Learning brought students and the community together to honor the hard work, creativity, and dedication that defined the semester’s accomplishments.
Join the RYHO celebration by volunteering at an elementary school to read books, recite poetry or tell stories as we uplift Black history.

Cherokee is so lucky to have such a kind, patient, knowledgeable and caring counselor. Kelly helped a new student and family get registered recently and I cannot say enough good things about how they were treated there.
