The school social workers promote positive mental, emotional and social relationships in the school community by providing interventions, prevention, advocacy, and education to strengthening our school community.

School Social Work focuses on but is not limited to:

  • positive collaborative relationships with students, families, and the community, in order to meet students' needs and maximize their success in school

  • MMSD systems and policies, such as enrollment, free-reduced lunch and transportation

  • attendance improvement efforts, including habitual truancy

  • students and families who do not have permanent housing (homeless)  TEP Website
